It may seem obvious that trees have huge ecological and wildlife benefits. However what is less obvious is just how to manage trees in such a way as to maximise these benefits. At Four Seasons Tree Care we have been managing trees for their wildlife and ecological benefits for years.
The value of dead wood within a woodland or even a single tree has been recognised for some time now. We will be happy to advise on when dead wood should be retained and when safety concerns must override. We often build habitat piles from the arisings of our tree work operations.
Within retained trees we can use ‘coronet cuts’ and ‘natural fracture pruning’ to mimic storm damage and enhance habitat. For an example please see out Tree Felling article.
We are also able to advise on new planting to attract wildlife and especially birds and can install bird, bat and owl boxes.
