Tree Clearance & Removal for Property Development near Wallingford

A key service that we offer is site clearance work for property development. Trees are often a main consideration in the planning process and local authorities will generally require a BS 5837 tree survey before any planning application can be considered whenever trees are impacted by the proposal.

Once planning approval is in place we are regularly called on by home owners, tree consultants, surveyors or architects to implement the necessary tree works. We are fully equipped to handle this type of work safely and efficiently.

We recently completed a tree clearance job on a site near Wallingford. The site was within a conservation area and the owners had received full planning consent to redevelop the existing derelict buildings. The species of trees were mainly Lime, Horse Chestnut and Yew and although some of them were fairly large, none of them were good specimens and the largest Lime tree was in fact in unsafe condition due to a decay in the lower stem and buttress roots.

All of the work had been approved by the local authority and so our team were called in. Around 15 mature trees were removed. A climbing team safely dismantled some of these trees using specialist rigging and lowering systems to minimise disturbance to the ground and avoiding damage to the trees and shrubs adjacent which needed to be retained.

The unsafe Lime tree was dismantled using our own cherry picker because it was not deemed safe enough to be climbed and dismantled in the usual manner. Owning and operating our own cherry picker is a real bonus that allows us to work on trees like this with improved safety and efficiency.

All of the material arising from the work was processed on site. Our client retained some of the woodchip for future use as a mulch on the finished site. All of the larger timber was removed and everything left in a good tidy condition ready for the next phase of works to follow.
