Its always nice to undertake some local tree surgery work in Oxford, and this job involved the pruning of a Copper Beech tree which was positioned in a residential street in the customer’s front garden.

Not all tree surgery involves ropes and harnesses to have to physically climb a tree, and as this one had very good access from the side of the road, our skilled team of arborists were able to use our ‘cherry-picker’ for this job.

This particular Copper Beech is the largest tree in the surrounding area, so it really provides a strong feature to the street. It was in wonderfully good health, especially bearing in mind it had been badly lopped in the past. Our job was to carefully prune the tree to reduce the crown size and improve it’s overall shape and balance so that it wouldn’t pose any risk to drivers and pedestrians that may pass by.

After several hours of work, and over 100 clean and accurate pruning cuts to ensure there were no harmful effects on the tree, the formerly wild and unruly looking specimen was transformed. The overall effect was of a lighter, more balanced and natural looking tree which sat well within it’s suburban landscape, without losing too much size and impact.
